Duhok Polytechnic University Advances Preparations for the 1st International Conference on Artificial Intelligence
Within the framework of preparations for organizing the 1st International Conference on Artificial Intelligence entitled:
The 1st International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Engineering and Applied Science / ICAIEAS2026, 17-18 June 2026, Hybrid Conference.
The seventh expanded meeting of the preparatory committee was held at the Presidency of Duhok Polytechnic University, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Ari Adel, President of the University, with the participation of the Vice Presidents of the University and high-level delegations from the Universities of University of Zakho, Akre University for Applied Sciences, and Soran University.
At the beginning of the meeting, the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Ari Adel, delivered a speech in which he welcomed the participating university delegations and expressed her pleasure that Duhok Polytechnic University would be among the partner universities in this major scientific activity. She also emphasized that the conference would represent an important platform for the exchange of scientific expertise among local and international universities.
During this important meeting, the main themes were discussed under the supervision of the Vice President of Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, Asst. Prof. Dr. Yaman Sami Sharif. Several strategic points contributing to the success of the conference were identified, while discussions were also conducted regarding the final stages of the technical and scientific preparations for the conference. Establishing communication channels with foreign universities to encourage the participation of international researchers constituted another major topic of the meeting. Furthermore, discussions addressed the reception of research papers, the identification of criteria and mechanisms for receiving scientific research in the fields of engineering and applied sciences, and their publication in internationally recognized journals. In addition, the role of artificial intelligence and the importance of this technology in advancing the academic and industrial sectors in the Kurdistan Region were highlighted.
It is worth noting that the conference is scheduled to be held on 17–18 June 2026 in coordination with Şırnak University.
