With the aim of raising awareness of breast cancer and emphasizing the importance of prevention, an awareness seminar was delivered to a number of women under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ari Adel, President of Duhok Polytechnic University, under the slogan:

“Early Detection and Awareness Are the Keys to Protecting Women’s Health.”

The Gender Equality Centre at the University Presidency, in cooperation with the Directorate of Health Protection Affairs in Duhok Governorate, organized an awareness seminar for a number of female employees on Monday, 19 October 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the Seminar Hall at the University Presidency.

The seminar was delivered by Dr. Jwan Hikmat Hussein, a community health specialist and Head of the Breast Cancer Early Detection Unit. It included scientific information on the signs of breast cancer, preventive measures, and the importance of early detection, with the aim of raising health awareness among the participants.

At the conclusion of the seminar, in recognition of this scientific cooperation, the University President, Prof. Dr. Ari Adel, expressed her appreciation and gratitude to the Preventive Health Directorate in Duhok Governorate and expressed her hope for the continuation of joint efforts. She then presented the University Shield to the representatives in recognition of their cooperation.
