President of Duhok Polytechnic University Participates in the First International Conference of Akre University for Applied Science
In the presence of Dr. Sabah Ibrahim Wais, Advisor and Representative of the Honorable Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Ari Adel, President of Duhok Polytechnic University, and a number of members of the Kurdistan Parliament and the Iraqi Council of Representatives, presidents of universities in the Kurdistan Region, officials and representatives of governmental institutions, as well as academic figures, researchers, and faculty members, the first day of the International Conference on Applied Sciences and Development (ICASD2026) commenced at the Conference Hall of Akre University.
The conference will continue for two days, from 15 to 16 September 2026, constituting an important and strategic step toward advancing applied sciences and linking them with the needs of the labor market and sustainable development processes.
On the first day of the conference, following the presentation of the organizers’ address, the welcome address delivered by the President of Akre University of Applied Sciences, and the address of the Representative of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, two important scientific panel discussions were held with the participation of a number of attendees. The panels addressed the needs of applied sciences institutions and the alignment of educational programs with the demands of the labor market.
