From Agreement Implementation: Academic–Private Sector Collaboration to Support Solar Energy Education

As part of the activation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), and with the aim of strengthening joint cooperation between academic institutions and the private sector, an advanced and specialized workshop in solar energy was organized through the collaboration of Duhok Technical Institute, affiliated with Duhok Polytechnic University (DPU), itel Energy Iraq, and Finest Solar Solutions.

The workshop was held under the title:

“Advanced Solar Energy Workshop – PV System Installation and itel Inverter Connection & Configuration”

The training programme was conducted over two consecutive days at the headquarters of Finest Solar Solutions in Duhok. The workshop primarily focused on the practical aspects of photovoltaic (PV) system installation, component interconnection, and the commissioning and configuration of itel inverters. It also addressed the operation of systems and modern technologies currently employed in the solar energy labour market.

Academic staff from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Solar Energy, along with engineers from the Department of Energy Engineering, participated in this initiative. The primary objective of this participation was to facilitate the direct transfer of knowledge and practical experience acquired in the labour market to the university’s laboratories and classrooms, thereby contributing to the advancement of practical education and the preparation of graduates to meet labour market requirements.

This initiative highlights the importance of strengthening relations and sustained collaboration between the university and the private sector, with the aim of supporting education in renewable energy, developing practical competencies, and promoting green and environmentally friendly technologies.

At the conclusion of the workshop, the project management extended its appreciation and gratitude to both itel Energy Iraq andFinest Solar Solutions for their cooperation, participation, and continuous support.
