Duhok Polytechnic University Receives a High-Level Delegation from the European Union and UNESCO

As part of supporting the reform process in the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) system, Duhok Polytechnic University, received a high-level delegation from the European Union and the UNESCO Representation in Iraq.
During a meeting, Prof. Dr. Ari Adel, President of Duhok Polytechnic University, welcomed Mr. Wim Ripma, Head of Cooperation at the European Union Delegation to Iraq, Mr. Steven De Vrient, Programme Manager, Mr. Bilal Al-Humayda, TVET Programme Specialist at UNESCO, and Mr. Haider Al-Huboubi, National Project Officer at UNESCO. He highlighted the achievements of the ten years of partnership between the University and these organizations, particularly in the areas of implementing the Bologna Process, strengthening the quality assurance system, and aligning skills with the labour market.
On the other hand, the programme of the visit began with an extended meeting, followed by a visit by the guest delegation to the University’s departments and learning environments on campus. During an extended discussion session, the President’s Assistants and Directors of the University Presidency presented the outcomes of the reforms implemented since 2015, including: developing labour market monitoring, expanding academic exchange with European universities, and strengthening relations with the private sector.
At the conclusion of the visit, both sides emphasized the continuation of coordination and the opening of new horizons for scientific cooperation, while the Presidency of Duhok Polytechnic University expressed its appreciation and gratitude for the continued support of the European Union and UNESCO.
