Duhok Polytechnic University Conducts Training of Trainers (ToT) Course under the RISE Project
Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ari Adel, President of Duhok Polytechnic University, a Training of Trainers (ToT) course was launched on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, by the university staff for a selected group of lecturers, employees, and students. The six-day training program will serve as a platform for the exchange of knowledge and expertise, building upon previous training courses conducted at European universities. The initiative is part of the university’s responsibilities within the international RISE project, which is supervised by the Mediterranean Universities Union UNIMED.
At the opening ceremony, Prof. Dr. Ary Adel welcomed the participants and emphasized the strategic importance of international cooperation, knowledge exchange, and skills development in advancing the higher education system. He also highlighted the university’s commitment to fostering innovation, enhancing academic quality, and preparing graduates to meet the continuously evolving demands of the labor market.
It is worth noting that the RISE project aims to strengthen and integrate expertise in order to improve employability opportunities and internationalization within the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. The project involves seven universities from the Kurdistan Region, along with two European universities: University of Murcia in Spain and International University of Rome in Italy. The project’s primary objective is to enhance institutional capacities in the field of internationalization and bridge the gap between higher education outcomes and labor market needs.
Furthermore, the training program covers several key themes related to the development of higher education, including internationalization strategies, employability enhancement, the logic of academic mobility, the role of research in university development, alumni engagement, innovation in academic curricula, and methods for organizing career fairs and securing global academic opportunities.
Through this initiative, Duhok Polytechnic University reaffirms its commitment to expanding international partnerships and elevating the university’s academic standards, enabling the academic community to adapt to global transformations.
