Mechanic and Solar Energy Team Joins Renewable Energy Training in Germany

As part of its commitment to international academic collaboration and technical capacity-building, a delegation from the Mechanic and Solar Energy Department at Technical Institute of DuhokDuhok Polytechnic University participated in an advanced training course in solar and alternative energy, hosted by the Faculty of Engineering, TU Bergakademie Freiberg – Germany, from August 21st to 28th, 2025. This collaboration is based on the official Memorandum of Understanding between the two universities.

This valuable participation was made possible thanks to the continuous support and supervision of Dr. Araz Rajab, Dean of Duhok Technical Institute, and as a direct result of the ongoing encouragement by Prof. Dr. Ari, President of Duhok Polytechnic University, who strongly promotes the pursuit of modern scientific knowledge across all fields, especially in mechanical engineering and renewable energy technologies.

The training was organized under the supervision of Prof. Henning Zeidler, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at TU Freiberg, and coordinated by Dr. Abdulkadir Kadauw and Ms. Manuela Junghans. The program featured a combination of theoretical sessions, hands-on workshops, and field visits to specialized laboratories, focusing on advanced techniques in clean energy production.

The diverse delegation – including faculty members, Ph.D. students, engineers, and technicians – fostered meaningful knowledge exchange and enriched the academic dialogue between Kurdistan and Germany.

This training marks a significant step toward enhancing the academic and technical capacities of the institute’s staff, modernizing curricula, and aligning educational practices with global higher education standards. The outcomes will directly benefit students, researchers, and the broader academic community.
