A journalism course was presented for DPU journalists


Under the supervision of Prof.Dr. Aree Adel, President of the University, the Media Directorate and Career Development Center in the cooperation with Cowater International Organization for the first time in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region with the support of the European Union held a journalism course.

However, Transferring of Stories was taught to 17 media professionals of the College and Technical Institute of Duhok Polytechnic University, Asst. Prof. Dr. Yaman Sami, Vice President of the University for Scientific Affairs, opened a three-day training course on the Eazidiharak project of the media and the transmission of stories and newspaper topics.

In this course, it was presented by Mohammed bin Hussein, a journalist and international trainer of Reuters and CNN and an expert in the field of international and political affairs.

A number of important topics of journalism were included theoretical and practical topics and activities such as writing press releases. Also, the art of captivating، writing and reporting journalistic stories, conducting interviews, photography and photography were taught.

The trainer of the course said: "for the first time in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, we are hosting this course and we want Duhok Polytechnic University as the first step for this project and our goal is to produce a staff in the field of media so that they can do their best work and write their news in the best way and learn how to take pictures. In addition to the fact that there is a high level of education which is important to understand the importance of the University rank betterment.

On the other hand, the director of the university's media Mr. Sarkaft Rasheed said: "This course will enable the officials of the media in the colleges and technical institutes to better understand and convey the stories of students, teachers and employees and at the same time it will become a new source for introducing the websites and pages of the university in the local media."

At last, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Nawzat Sadiq, Vice President of the University for Student Affairs, said: "We are grateful to the organization and coaches of the course and we hope that this kind of course will continue for the staff of our university and we thank the European Union for their support for this type of course and we believe that it will have a good impact on raising the level of the staff of the university announcement which will be able to improve the website and the rank of the university.
