The Technical Institute of Shingal Organizes a Scientific Seminar to Support the Second Goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (Zero Hunger)
Within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and in support of the second goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (Zero Hunger), the Technical Institute of Shingal organized a scientific seminar on 18/01/2026, in the presence of the Assistant Dean, heads of scientific departments, and faculty members. The seminar was delivered by Dr. Mohammed Abdulaziz Ahmed, Head of the Department of Business Administration and representative of the Technical Institute of Shingal at the Presidency of Duhok Polytechnic University, under the title:
The Role of the Technical Institute of Shingal in Supporting the Second Goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (Zero Hunger) in Light of the Social and Economic Conditions of the Region
The seminar directly addressed the issue of (Zero Hunger) and provided essential clarifications regarding the reality of insufficient and inadequate nutrition in Shingal District, and its impact on students’ health, the educational process, and social stability, particularly under prevailing internal social and economic challenges.
The seminar also highlighted the academic and societal role of the Technical Institute of Shingal in contributing to the achievement of Zero Hunger through raising nutritional awareness, supporting low-income students, and linking education to community needs. In addition, several practical proposals and initiatives were presented that could be implemented in cooperation with relevant local and humanitarian entities.
In conclusion, the Technical Institute of Shingal reaffirmed its continuous commitment to supporting the goal of Zero Hunger and actively contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals in service of the local community.
