DPU Ranks 2nd Among Universities in the Kurdistan and 5th in Iraq


According to the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings, Duhok Polytechnic University (DPU) has been listed for the first time in this prestigious global ranking. The university secured the second position among public universities in the Kurdistan Region, the fifth in Iraq, and is placed in the +1501 category globally.

Times Higher Education (THE) is committed to advancing higher education worldwide by evaluating academic institutions through data analysis, strategic consultancy, and engagement in activities aligned with the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These goals are a key component of the ranking, encompassing various areas such as research dissemination, innovation output, and social impact, including metrics like website traffic and online visibility.

The latest edition of the THE Impact Rankings was released on June 18, 2025, with universities evaluated based on their contributions toward achieving the SDGs. On this occasion, the university president, Professor Dr. Ari Adel, expressed his pride in this achievement, describing it as an important academic milestone and congratulating all university staff for their efforts.
