DPU and Zeravani Forces Agree on Joint Training and Technical Programs


On August 21, 2025, Prof. Dr. Aree Adel, President of Duhok Polytechnic University, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Araz Rajab, Dean of Duhok Technical Institute, met with Major General Aziz Waisy Bani, Commander of the Zeravani Forces (Kurdish Guard), with the aim of building bridges of cooperation between the university and military institutions.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the regional situation and the level of education at Duhok Polytechnic University in general, and at the Duhok Technical Institute in particular. They also held in-depth discussions on mechanisms for joint work and both scientific and practical cooperation.

The meeting emphasized the importance of launching specialized training courses such as:

  • Physiotherapy,
  • CNC machine operation,
  • Soil testing,

  • and engineering stabilization courses at the institute.

It was also agreed to establish the Duhok Technical Center for the Zeravani Forces to enhance professional and technical competencies for personnel in the military field.

On the sidelines of the visit, the Zeravani leadership delegation, accompanied by the university staff, toured the laboratories of the Duhok Technical Institute, in order to review and benefit from the advanced equipment and laboratories in the fields of engineering and medicine.

At the conclusion of the visit, both parties affirmed that in the coming days practical and academic training programs will be launched specifically for the soldiers of the Zeravani Forces, to be conducted at Duhok Polytechnic University, aimed at strengthening their scientific knowledge and professional skills.
