About the Department

The Information Technology (IT) Department is a cornerstone of the Technical College of Duhok, offering a comprehensive program that blends theoretical knowledge with practical skills to prepare students for the evolving IT landscape.

Following an eight-semester curriculum, students graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology. The program is meticulously designed to balance theory and hands-on experience, ensuring that graduates are job-ready and competitive in the rapidly evolving IT industry. A practical learning approach allows students to gain real-world experience, equipping them with the skills needed to excel in various IT sectors.

The IT Department evolved from the Information Technology Management (ITM) Department, which was founded in 2013. Since then, it has successfully graduated nine cohorts, many of whom have excelled in diverse fields such as software development, networking, cybersecurity, and data management. As technology continues to advance, the department remains dedicated to cutting-edge education and career development, ensuring graduates are well-equipped for the modern job market.
