DPU Participates in the First Conference of Editorial Boards of Iraqi Scientific Journals


Duhok Polytechnic University, represented by the Editor-in-Chief of its journal Dasinya Journal for Engineering and Informatics, Asst. Prof. Dr. Najdavan Abduljawad Kako, participated in the First Scientific Conference of the Editorial Boards of Iraqi Journals, hosted by the University of Technology – Iraq with the presence of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Federal Government, the Deputy Minister, university presidents and their vice-presidents, as well as chief editors of Iraqi academic journals.

The conference was organized in cooperation with international partners including Elsevier, Clarivate, Digital Commons by Elsevier, the Egyptian Knowledge Bank, and the ASF Foundation.

During his address, the Minister emphasized the importance of increasing the global visibility of Iraqi academic journals in major international indexing databases, while enhancing scientific impact indicators and international citation references. He highlighted that the ministry follows an integrated methodology to develop journals through implementing quality assurance and governance standards, in addition to providing sustainable technical support.

The conference included scientific sessions on mechanisms for academic content indexing, as well as a presentation on the Research Management System (RMS).

On behalf of Duhok Polytechnic University, Dr. Nijdavan underlined the importance of this conference in developing editorial and scientific expertise, and in advancing the quality of the university’s journal to align with international standards. Such initiatives contribute to strengthening the university’s position both regionally and globally.
