With the rising global population, the demand for food continues to increase annually. To ensure food security and economic growth, the Kurdistan Region and the country as a whole require innovative strategies and advanced methods to enhance agricultural production and food processing.

Our mission is to establish a high-quality undergraduate program in Food Production and Technology, aimed at developing skilled and globally competitive graduates. Additionally, we are committed to engaging in community service initiatives to address agricultural challenges and provide sustainable solutions.

A Bachelor’s degree in Food Production and Technology is essential due to the region's geographical advantages, including abundant water resources and fertile soil. This program seeks to enhance agricultural productivity, promote food processing, and develop new food products. It also focuses on food safety and quality control, ensuring graduates acquire expertise in food production, preservation, processing, storage, and packaging. By reducing agricultural waste and increasing profitability, the program will play a vital role in supporting food security and economic stability.

Vision

The Bachelor’s program in Food Science and Technology is designed to achieve several key goals:

  1. Project Evaluation & Financial Appraisal: Assess the viability of agricultural projects, including fruit production, greenhouse farming, and livestock management; Conduct financial analyses to determine project feasibility and profitability.
  2. Agricultural Research & Data Analysis: Design and implement agricultural research projects; Perform data analysis to identify best practices in food production.
  3. Global Market & Business Awareness: Understand international market trends and adapt business strategies accordingly.
  4. Adapting to Emerging Technologies in Agriculture: Utilize modern robotics, mechanization, and ICT for agricultural advancements; Enhance communication between farmers, researchers, and policymakers.
