Study Programs

Division of Study Programs (DSP):

The Study Programs Division is a main pillar within the Directorate of QA, alongside the Teaching Quality Assurance (TQA) Division. It provides developmental support to the university's curricula as a whole and designs layouts for Program Specification and Course Specification. The Study Programs division follows a systematic process to organize what will be taught, who will be taught, and the method of instruction. Each component of the curricula affects and interacts with others; for instance, what will be taught is influenced by the target audience. Consequently, the division plans, designs, and facilitates curricula outlines in collaboration with department heads and curriculum specialists.

The head of the Study Programs division is responsible for the development, editing, quality, and production of curricula, as well as managing curriculum requirements. The main duties include:

  • Liaising with the Directorate of Quality Assurance through the Division of Curriculum Programs of the University Presidency.
  • Communicating and collaborating with scientific departments.
  • Preparing instructional materials for printing and developing outlines with necessary basic details to direct instruction.
  • Developing and maintaining a research database that may be utilized for curriculum development and review.
  • Monitoring the implementation of the curriculum for the scientific sections, including theoretical, practical, and applied materials.
  • Developing curricular goals and outlines for new curricula and updates.
  • Identifying and leading a team of teachers to assist in Study Programs.
  • Participating in the development and evaluation of new curricula, consulting with committee members of the DCD (Department of Curriculum Development) in the design and development process.
  • Coordinating, reviewing, and assessing current curricula to ensure they meet intended objectives and requirements.
  • Utilizing evaluations and data to make recommendations for annual improvements and edits to curricula.
  • Monitoring the scientific specialization of professors, lecturers, and visitors in cooperation with the Directorate of Scientific Affairs.
  • Presenting proposals from departmental scientific committees for any changes or developments in the curriculum or subject vocabulary to the Directorate of Quality Assurance Department of University Program for discussion in the sectoral committee for approval.
  • Submitting periodic reports to the Directorate of Quality Assurance Department of University Programs on program implementation issues, proposed problems, and solutions.
