Overview of the Department
The Accounting Department was established during the 1988–1989 academic year as one of the scientific departments within the Technical Institute of Administration – Duhok, affiliated with Duhok Polytechnic University. The department suspended its activities in 2010 for a period of seven years and was reactivated in the 2017–2018 academic year. It has remained operational since then.
The department offers a two-year diploma program, consisting of four academic semesters along with summer training in both public and private sector institutions. The department admits graduates from preparatory schools, specifically those from the scientific stream.
Graduates of the Accounting Department are qualified to work in both public and private sector organizations. High-performing graduates have the opportunity to pursue a bachelor’s degree at the Technical College of Administration, specifically in the Department of Accounting and Financial Techniques.
